Sticky Johnson Deluxe Surf Wax

Sticky Johnson Deluxe surfboard wax is formulated to be a longlasting and super grippy wax that beads nicely upon application, keeping you stuck to your surfboard all session long.

Proudly 100% New Zealand Made. Sticky Johnson care about our oceans, so their wax is a non toxic product which uses natural ingredients for superior traction.

Basecoat: Designed to create super tight, solid beads of surfboard wax that wont melt or rub off easily, making the perfect basecoat to any Sticky Johnson top coat surfboard wax

Like any good wax, SJ is available in a range of temperatures to suit your local break or planned roady!

Water Temperature Ranges:

  • Cold (Soft and sticky): less than 15°C
  • Cool (Semi soft and sticky): 14-20°C
  • Warm (Hard and sticky): 19-25°C
  • Tropical (Harder and Less sticky) : more than 24°C

Surf Wax Application:

Before applying your basecoat it is important to ensure your board is clean and dry. Remove any old wax with a wax comb or scraper and some Sticky Johnson Wax Remover. Always wax up in the shade out of direct sunlight and ensure the cake of wax and your surfboard is cool. This will ensure a nice tight beaded wax job!

Use the edge of the cake of wax and start rubbing lightly rail to rail then nose to tail. Use long sweeping strokes and you will see small wax beads start to appear. Alternate from long strokes once wax has started to bead with circular application to really build the bumps.

Once the basecoat is down make sure to apply the correct topcoat for the temperature of water you are going out in! For the best results we recommend your total wax job should be 30% basecoat, 70% topcoat and ensure maximum stick and longevity for your session!

Simply keep applying a small topcoat each session to keep your wax job grippy, session after session!
